Chevrolet Venture

Overview

The Chevrolet Venture was GM's front-wheel-drive minivan offering, sharing the GM U-Body platform with the Pontiac Trans Sport, Pontiac Montana, and Oldsmobile Silhouette. Introduced to replace the plastic-cladded Lumina APV, the Venture offered a more conventional minivan appearance with sliding rear doors, a practical cabin, and a mainstream 3.4L V6 powertrain.

The 3.4L V6 engine produced 180–185 horsepower and drove the front wheels through a 4-speed automatic gearbox. Optional features included dual sliding rear doors (from 1998), a rear-seat entertainment system, and an extended-wheelbase model for additional rear-row room. The Venture was available in both standard and extended-length wheelbases.
