Origins & Heritage
RAM's story begins in 1917 when the Dodge Brothers produced their first commercial truck chassis. For decades, the Dodge Ram was one of America's most recognizable commercial vehicles.
In 2010, Chrysler Group spun the truck division off as a standalone brand. The separation allowed RAM to develop its own identity focused entirely on trucks and commercial vehicles.
Under its own brand, RAM aggressively challenged Ford's F-Series dominance. Recent generations offer 12-inch touchscreens, optional air suspension, and multifunction tailgates — features more associated with luxury sedans.
