Overview

The Toyota Corolla iM was sold in the North American market in the 2017 and 2018 model years as a compact hatchback. A rebadged version of Toyota's European-market Auris model, the Corolla iM was built on the E170 Corolla platform. The "iM" name was derived from "inspired by Movement." The car was a more sport-styled hatchback alternative targeting a mainstream buyer demographic.

The Corolla iM came with the 1.8-litre 2ZR-FAE Valvematic engine — an engine applying Toyota's variable valve timing (Valvematic) technology producing 137 hp. Transmission choices were a six-speed manual (standard) or CVT (optional). This model, which found success in the North American market, was produced for only two generations — 2017 and 2018 model years — before being superseded by the Toyota Corolla Hatchback (E210).
