Volkswagen Multivan

Overview

The Volkswagen Multivan is the premium passenger version of the Transporter family. First introduced in 1984 based on the T3 generation, it combined commercial van functionality with luxury touring comfort. Fold-away, slide-out seating, a table system, premium leather upholstery, and air suspension features made it a favourite of business travellers, families, and charter operators.

The fully renewed T7 Multivan in 2021 moved to the MQB platform — a completely different architecture versus previous PQ35 generations. The T7 Multivan offers a 1.4L TSI eHybrid plug-in hybrid option (85 km electric range) and 2.0L TSI/TDI engine variants. The new generation has significantly reduced cargo capacity but is optimised for family use.
