Chrysler's K-car-based extended sedan — the Executive offered stretched limousine-like dimensions on the affordable K platform, targeting corporate and livery markets.
The Chrysler Executive was a stretched version of the K-car platform, extending the wheelbase to provide limousine-like interior dimensions. Sold from 1983 to 1986, the Executive was aimed at corporate and livery markets where the traditional Lincoln or Cadillac limo was too expensive. The FWD K-car platform made the stretched body structure simpler to engineer than a comparable RWD limousine.
Engine options were the same as the standard K-car: the 2.2L four-cylinder and optional 2.6L Mitsubishi V6. While not powerful, the Executive's purpose was comfortable passenger transport rather than performance. A formal roof option was available on higher trim levels.
In Azerbaijan, the Executive is an extreme rarity from a brief and unusual production run.
| Variant | Tahrik Sistemi | Güc | 0–100 km/s | Ən Uyğun |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Executive (2.2) | 2.2L 4-cyl | 93 hp | ~14s 0–100 | Economy, simplicity |
| Executive (2.6 V6) | 2.6L V6 | 101–142 hp | ~12s 0–100 | Better performance for the body weight |
| Model | Üstünlük | Kompromis (Yerli Kontekst) |
|---|---|---|
| Lincoln Town Car (stretch) | Far more prestige, V8 RWD | Much higher price |
| Cadillac DeVille (stretch) | Better prestige badge | More expensive |
| Standard Chrysler New Yorker | Same era comfort, shorter and more manageable | Less interior space |
The Chrysler Executive is a minor historical footnote in the K-car lineage. Best for collectors who specifically want this model. Practical daily use is unrealistic for a 40+ year old car of this specialised nature.
