The Chrysler Neon — launched with the memorable "Hi!" advertising campaign in 1994 — was a compact front-wheel-drive car that offered more interior space than most of its class, a rev-happy 2.0L DOHC engine, and a range of body styles that appealed broadly. Sold as both a Chrysler and Dodge in different markets, the Neon found particular success in North America, Mexico, and parts of Europe.

The first generation (1994–1999) used the PL platform with a 2.0L engine in SOHC (115 hp) or DOHC (132–150 hp) configurations. The ACR and R/T performance trims were genuine driver's cars with precise steering, a manual gearbox, and suspension tuning that made them competitive in amateur motorsport. The Neon SRT-4 of the second generation (2003–2005) turbocharged the 2.4L engine to produce 230 hp — creating one of the quickest front-wheel-drive cars of its era.

In Azerbaijan, the Neon is an affordable compact choice. The SRT-4 is a cult favourite for performance enthusiasts. The standard 2.0L is a practical and economical daily driver.
