The Chrysler Voyager is the direct lineage holder of the original 1984 minivan — the Plymouth Voyager of 1984 was literally one of the two vehicles (alongside the Dodge Caravan) that created the minivan segment. Over nearly four decades, the Voyager nameplate moved between Plymouth and Chrysler branding as models evolved, eventually becoming the entry-level minivan in the Chrysler lineup beneath the more premium Pacifica.

The modern fifth-generation Voyager (2020–2021) used the same Pacifica platform, the 3.6L Pentastar V6 (287 hp), Stow 'N Go seating, and power sliding doors — essentially a de-contented Pacifica at a lower price point. It was briefly revived in 2020 to offer a more budget-conscious family minivan option, though it was discontinued again in 2021 as the market consolidated around the Pacifica.

In Azerbaijan, the various Voyager generations offer exceptional family value. The fifth-generation 2020–2021 models are effectively budget Pacificas. Earlier generations are among the most affordable family vehicles available used.
