The Li One SUV, launched in 2019, proved the concept brilliantly. A large, well-specified, six-seat family SUV with 800 km of total range, it targeted the premium family SUV segment — BMW X5, Audi Q7, Volvo XC90 — at significantly lower prices. The Li One became China's best-selling premium SUV in its price category, demonstrating that Chinese buyers would enthusiastically embrace domestic EV brands if the product was right.
Li Auto went public on NASDAQ in July 2020 and subsequently on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, using the capital to expand its model range rapidly.
