Driving Electric Power to the World
In 1995, Wang Chuanfu started BYD — Build Your Dreams — in a small workshop in Shenzhen with 300,000 yuan borrowed from relatives. His goal: undercut Japanese battery manufacturers on price without sacrificing quality. What followed was a story of relentless reinvention that turned a battery startup into the world's leading electric vehicle company.
By the end of its first decade BYD had become the world's largest nickel-cadmium battery maker. Then in 2008 Warren Buffett made a landmark $1.6 billion investment, signalling to global markets that this was no ordinary Chinese manufacturer. BYD transferred its battery expertise to the auto sector, and the rest is history.
Today BYD sells in over 70 countries. In 2023 it delivered more than 3 million electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles — a global record — and its Blade Battery technology has reset the industry's safety benchmarks.
BYD's Ocean Aesthetics design language draws inspiration from the sea — fluid lines, dynamic surfaces, and clean proportions across its entire lineup.

BYD's electric vehicle lineup spans multiple segments from city cars to commercial vehicles.

BYD's most significant breakthrough is the Blade Battery, whose elongated cell design eliminates the separate module layer found in conventional packs. The cells slot directly into the battery case, improving volumetric energy density while adding structural rigidity to the vehicle floor.
In nail-penetration tests — the industry's harshest safety benchmark — the Blade Battery neither caught fire nor exploded. Combined with a rated cycle life exceeding 3,000 full charge-discharge cycles, it sets a new bar for longevity and peace of mind.
BYD electric vehicles are gaining rapid traction in Azerbaijan as the country's urban charging infrastructure continues to expand. Models with long real-world ranges are increasingly viable for inter-city journeys between Baku and regional centres.
Authorised BYD dealers in Azerbaijan provide full after-sales support, including servicing, genuine parts supply, and warranty coverage. Government incentives for electric vehicles are expected to make BYD an even more compelling entry point into zero-emission motoring.
